Bukalasa Agricultural College Background
Bukalasa Agricultural College is situated 50 km north of Kampala; it was established by the then Colonial Government in 1929 as a cotton breeding centre. It has since then metamorphosed into an agricultural training institution with a strong reputation of training front line agricultural extension workers as well as a home to many household names of academicians, administrators, researchers, and impeccable leaders..
Recently international students are getting attracted to the college to pursue various academic programmes, thus widening the scope of the institution in coverage. The college wishes to ensure that the original mandate is not lost, and at the same time rise to the challenges of satisfying needs of the expanding clientele. This situation is covered in the Vision, Mission, Core Values and Objectives below.

To initiate and promote innovations in Agricultural Training Programs.
To produce skilled manpower with positive attitude to serve the Agricultural Sector and Society.
To equip trainees, with scientific knowledge and skills that they can independently apply in the field.
To equip trainees with analytical tools required to solve problems along the agricultural value chains.
To promote the acquisition, adaptation and application of information technology to address the social and economic challenges of Uganda.
To support establishment of a resource center for the production and dissemination of information relating to Agriculture and related disciplines.
To undertake research for the generation of knowledge required to advance the Agricultural Sector
To support community development through the outreach programme.
To provide the opportunity for the increased number of women in the Agricultural profession.
